Raff Angus ExportOver the past few years we have had considerable enquiry for our Raff Angus genetics from breeders in the United Kingdom and Europe. Due to the long, complex and expensive process of quarantine to qualify our bulls for the EU we have been reluctant to do so. However following our trip to the UK in June last year it was obvious that there was potentially sufficient interest to justify qualifying a Raff Angus bull. We are pleased to advise that Raff Hercules H411 has now qualified for export to the EU and his semen is now available. Raff Hercules H411 was calved on 13th September 2012. He is sired by the world acclaimed Raff Empire E269 who was undefeated, all breeds, on the country show circuit in Australia during his show career within our recent three year marketing campaign of Raff Angus when 34 shows were attended and over 28,000km were travelled. His wins included –
Raff Empire E269 is a 12th generation Raff bred sire regarded by stud founder David Raff as the greatest bull ever bred in the studs 49 year history. The dam of Hercules is Raff Blackbird E305 who is sired by Shady Brook Prime 251F. Her dam, Hoff Blackbird 5217, was purchased by us at the famous Hoff Scotch Cap Angus dispersion sale in 2006. She is a maternal sister to Hoff Limited Edition and dam of numerous sons now used at Raff Angus. A full sister to Hercules topped our 2012 Female Sale selling for $17,000 when just 8 months of age while a three quarter brother, sired by Raff Empire E269 from another Blackbird 5217 daughter, topped our 2013 bull sale selling for $32,000 at 14 months old. A full sister to this bull, Raff Blackbird H4, is one of the highest Terminal $Index Angus females in the Angus breed within Australia and New Zealand. She weighed 770kg when just 23 months of age. Raff Hercules H411 typifies the type of bull Raff Angus strive to breed – big and powerful, correct in his structure, long & wide based with a high yielding carcase of quality beef.
